The safety and technical briefing starts before the scheduled departure time.
Minimum age: 4 years.
Children aged 4–5 may share a kayak with two adults.
Children aged 6 or older must use their own seat in the kayak.
This activity is not recommended for pregnant women or people with serious back problems.
Waterproof bags are provided to keep essential items safe and dry during the kayak tour.
Participants are kindly asked to bring only essential items, as there is no secure or closed storage space for personal belongings.

Sea Conditions and Safety
In case of unsafe sea conditions, the activity will be rescheduled whenever possible or a full refund will be offered.
Facilities On Site
Public toilets available after 09:00 during summer; usually closed in winter.
There are no shower facilities in the area.
After the activity, participants may relax on the beach or visit nearby bars and restaurants.
There are several free and paid parking areas mentioned in the “Meeting Point” section.

Upon arrival at the meeting point, look for our dedicated team wearing dark blue shirts with a golden otter logo on the back, or ask directly for Fábio or Diana.
Tips
- Plan to arrive at the meeting point at least 45 minutes before departure to allow enough time for check-in (30 minutes required).
- Convenient parking options are available within a short walking distance from the meeting point.
- During high season, we recommend arriving a bit earlier as parking availability may be limited.

Sea conditions: the activity depends on weather and sea conditions. In case of unfavorable conditions, you will be contacted to reschedule or receive a refund.

If the minimum number of participants is not reached or unforeseen circumstances occur, a new date/time or full refund will be offered.

Pregnant women cannot participate for safety reasons. Failure to declare this during booking will result in denied boarding without refund.

The cliffs and caves were formed by natural erosion processes and present a risk of collapse, which you should be aware of.

Is previous kayaking experience required?
No. This tour is suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced paddlers.
Is it allowed to stop on the sand inside Benagil Cave?
No. Since August 13, 2024, legislation prohibits walking access inside the cave. The visit is only by water, and participants must remain in the kayak throughout the tour. The cave can still be fully observed.
How long can we stay in the caves?
Benagil Cave: Approximately 7 minutes per group.
Other caves: Visiting time depends on visitor numbers and sea conditions.
Can I take photos and videos?
Yes. Photography and filming are allowed. For those who prefer to enjoy the moment, our team will take photos for you.
Can I bring food and drinks?
Yes. Light snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are allowed. Please make sure you have a way to store your trash.
Is smoking allowed during the tour?
No. Smoking is prohibited for safety reasons and to prevent littering in the sea.
What is the best time to visit the caves?
Early morning or late afternoon, when there are fewer visitors and the sea is calmer. Our tours are scheduled at these ideal times.
Is it better at high or low tide?
It makes little difference. Some caves are more accessible at high tide, others at low tide, making each tour unique. Safety is always our priority, and visits are adapted according to sea conditions.
Will I get wet?
Yes. As you will be seated in the kayak during sea entry and exit, waves and paddle splashes may occur. Come prepared and wear suitable clothing or bring a change of clothes.
Is parking available?
Yes. There are free and paid parking areas nearby. During high season, parking may be difficult, so we recommend arriving early.
